Mahmoud El Mir (Founder) (1968-2025)
Founder
Me Mahmoud El-Mir is the Founder of the firm. He built a distinguished career in litigation, earning wide recognition for his authority in criminal law. Throughout decades of practice, he was entrusted with some of the most sensitive and complex criminal cases, which he handled with rigor, discretion, and deep professional commitment.

Over more than five decades, Me Mahmoud represented clients and institutions across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East in matters spanning a broad range of industries and legal fields. He laid the foundations of the firm's law practice and shaped its professional standards, leaving a lasting imprint on its approach to advocacy and ethics.

Academic qualifications:
Bachelors in law - the Lebanese Law - Arab university of Beirut and Alexandria University Law School (1965).

Professional qualifications:
Member in the Beirut Bar of Lawyers since 1968.
Former General Secretary of Union pour la protection des Enfants au Liban (UPEL), a public association for the rehabilitation of Juvenile delinquents for 12 years.

Jalal El-Mir (Managing Partner)
Managing Partner
Dr. Jalal El-Mir is the Managing Partner of the firm with extensive experience in finance and banking law, corporate law, and construction law. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in construction claims and arbitration proceedings conducted under FIDIC regulations, advising on complex, high-value infrastructure, and development projects.

Dr. Jalal has advised clients on joint ventures, large-scale commercial contracts, and cross-sector transactions, providing strategic legal support from project structuring through dispute resolution. His practice combines strong technical knowledge with a pragmatic, results-driven approach, enabling him to represent both corporate entities and financial institutions in sophisticated legal matters.

As Managing Partner, he oversees the firm's strategic direction and complex mandates, ensuring high professional standards and tailored legal solutions aligned with the clients' objectives.

Bachelors in law - Lebanese and French Law (Honor list), from Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon (1997).
Masters in Banking & Financial Law from the Panthéon Sorbonne (Paris I) University Law School (1999).

Former senior legal counsel for the Minister of Industry in Lebanon helping in drafting and implementing the industrial plan reforms of the Government (2020).
Former member of the legal department at the Crédit Agricole Bank in Paris, France (1998-1999).
Former Instructor of the Business Law and Corporation Law Courses at the Lebanese University (LU) in Beirut and has various publications in civil and criminal law (2004-2006).
Member in the Beirut Bar of Lawyers since 1999 and the International Bar of Lawyers since 2004.

Nisrine El Mir (Off-counsel)

Experienced multi-lingual Legal Director with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry in different geographies. Skilled in Privacy Law, Business Planning, Operations Management, International Business, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Dr. Nisrine El Mir has broad experience in the legal systems of European and Middle Eastern, Indian, Russian and African Countries, and significant experience in handling a range of major international transactions and projects with exceptional negotiations abilities.

Yasser El Hajj (Partner)

Yasser El Hajj has more than 20 years of significant experience in versatile Corporate and Commercial legal affairs, advising commercial and investment companies in Lebanon and KSA on a variety of transactions and products. Yasser also acted on many large Commercial projects including a broad cross section of general corporate matters including governance, and compliance, as well as advising companies on IPO, regulatory norms and fulfilment requisite formalities, liability management transactions, financial regulation, project development, financing and M&A transactions, Regulatory areas, and corporate governance.

Kassem Karim (Associate)
Associate
Kassem Karim has represented a broad range of clients, including established distribution and transportation companies as well as private individuals. He has worked closely with teams of lawyers on complex civil matters, contributing to case strategy and legal analysis.

His practice focuses in particular on labor law and social security matters, where he advises clients on both contentious and advisory issues. In parallel with his practice, he has contributed to legal research and publications for various institutions and companies, reflecting a strong interest in legal analysis and the development of practical legal solutions.

Mona Majed (Associate)

Ghina El Mir (Associate)

Ghina El Mir has experience in civil and real estate matters, representing clients in disputes as well as in advisory files related to property ownership, leases, and contractual issues. She assists clients before the competent courts and provides legal support in various stages of real estate transactions.

Her practice also includes legal research, case preparation, and follow-up on procedural matters. She works closely with clients to deliver clear and practical legal guidance, with particular attention to detail and the specific circumstances of each matter.

Mabelle Tyan (Off-Counsel)

Mabelle Tyan has over 20 years of experience in corporate law, advising on company legal structures under Lebanese and international jurisdictions, including France, Switzerland, USA, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates. She has also worked as a Legal Consultant on projects for the CRI (Consultant and Research Institute) and for various local and international NGOs and foundations.

Joseph Bou Aoun (Trainee Lawyer)

Joseph Bou Aoun is a lawyer trainee at El Mir Law. He assists in corporate and commercial matters, including real estate, construction, financial services, and regulatory compliance. His work includes legal research, drafting of agreements, preparation of documentation, and support in ongoing client files.

Through his training, he is gaining practical exposure to advisory and transactional work while contributing to the firm's day-to-day legal activities.
